Belize Pics
Decisions: Me under the palapa at our hotel deciding which hammock to lay down in.
Cabana: This was our temporary home right on the beach.
Transportation: You either walk, ride a bike, or drive a golf cart on the island. We tried to choose the later as much as possible.
Hammock House: This was a bar close by our cabana. Some notable ammenities are hammocks strewn about. Great after you've had too many Belikins.
Hand Ferry: This is the ferry you have to take across "the cut", a small waterway splitting the island in two. As you can see, it is not real advanced. They pull you across by hand.
The Cut: View of the cut from the Hammock House.
Palapa Bar: This was a great bar located at the end of a pier. Several of the piers in Ambergris have palapa's at the end of the them. Makes for great views.
Riverside Bar: This was our home away from home. Not only is it a great bar, but they have excellent food. It is run by our new found friends.
Our local mates: Picture of Meagan, myself, Karen and Randy at Sandbucks, the sub and coffee shop they run in addition to Riverside Sports Bar.
Rojo Lounge Sign: This is a sign we passed on our way through a jungle road in our golf cart. We decided to go check it out. It turned out to be the swankiest bar we visited while in Ambergris.
Rojo Lounge: This place was so far off the beaten path, I could not believe it when we saw how nice it was. The funishings were all top notch, and chairs were definitely built for "lounging".
Rojo Lounge View: This was our view while sitting in the outside bar. Talk about hard to cash out your tab.
San Pedro Town: This is a shot of one of the three main streets in San Pedro, the town on the island.
Snake Bitten: Me with a bottle of "Viper Rum". Mexico has their Mescal tequila with a worm. Belize steps it up a bit with rum containing a poisonous pit viper. Tasted more like moonshine than rum. Makes you do crazy things.
Wild Orchids: A snapshot of some wild orchids we saw journeying through the jungle North of "the cut".
Here comes our ride: The puddle jumper plane we took to and from the island to / from Belize City.
Meagan the co-pilot: On our plane ride back to Belize City, Meagan got to ride in the co-pilot seat.
